Kodiak USA Double Lead Taps
Also known as Double Start thread taps. The lead of a tap is the distance it will travel along it's axis in one revolution. A double lead tap will travel twice that distance in one revolution. The most common use is in adjusting mechanisms where a clockwise turn will make a linear distance movement 2X's the distance of a single lead tap.
The feed rate will be twice that of a regular tap, so to compensate, cut the RPM that you are running at to about 1/2 of what you would run a single lead tap at. Use the same hole size for a double-lead tap as for a standard tap.
